MITCHELL-FALLON CEMETERY

Several members of the Mitchell family are buried in a small family cemetery located in a pasture that's being turned into a housing subdivision outside of Benchley.  The body of a Union soldier, who moved to Texas after the Civil War and lived among the Henry and other families, is buried nearby but outside the fenced-in Mitchell family plot.

MITCHELL, ELIZA, ? - 3.30.1912, h ? Mitchell

MITCHELL, ?, ? - 1884, w Eliza, "Gone But Not Forgotten", urn or planter on top

MITCHELL, UNCLE JOHN, ? - ?, unreadable metal marker, last person buried in this cemetery

Another unreadable metal marker

Unmarked graves of a couple of children, presumably of ? & Eliza Mitchell

Outside the cyclone fence that encloses the Mitchell family plot (fence erected by Ella Mitchell Bowman estate)
is another unmarked burial:

FALLON, UNCLE FRANK, ? - ?, a former Union soldier who crawled under Mrs. Buchanan's house during the Civil War & got her last goose (but later reported never having had time to eat it), moved to Texas after the war and lived among the Henry and other families at Benchley, was married & had children, dug wells & built chimneys (unmarked grave is to the right of the cyclone fence when facing the gate)

The above information was provided by Sam Rice 11.2001.
